Armand Paardekooper Overman has been an Associate at Mecanoo since 2018. After completing his Master of Architecture degree at Helsinki University of Technology, Armand worked for OMA, the Dutch state architect Jo Coenen and the Argentinian state architect Daniel Silber Faden. In 2007, he became one of the principals of OIII Architects in Amsterdam. He is also a founding partner of fUSE Architecture. In 2014, he founded the real estate development company Urban Sync.
Armand has extensive experience in realising spatial quality within the context of complex multi-stakeholder processes, including the Cartesiusdriehoek development in Utrecht and Eden Soestdijk. Armand plays an integral role in Mecanoo’s research team MEC-L AB, focusing on sustainability. He believes that architecture and spatial design have a powerful capacity to provide inspiring added value to our lives. This quality is achieved by investigating, discovering, doing business and realizing projects within a broad team of consultants and clients. By using collective intelligence, a design can be allowed to "grow" through interaction and the combination of knowledge and expertise.
